Privacy policy

Farbmates is an app for making mandala designs, colouring other people's designs and sharing them. This page explains what we store about you, why, and what you can do about it.

What we store

• Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier for your account with them, and your email address if you choose to share it (Apple lets you hide it). We keep these so you can sign in again.
• Your profile. Your @handle, your name, and your profile picture if you add one.
• What you make. Your designs (drafts too), your colourings, the captions and titles you write, and your comments.
• What you do with other people. Whom you follow, whom you block, and the reports you file.
• If you browse without an account. A random identifier for your device, stored as a one-way hash, so the app can keep your guest session. Guest sessions nobody has used for 90 days are removed.
• Technical logs. Our server records requests, including your IP address, to keep the service running and to stop abuse.
• Crash reports. If the app crashes or freezes, it makes a diagnostic report (what the app was doing just before, your iPhone model and iOS version, and the random id of your Farbmates account) and sends it to us and to Google Firebase Crashlytics, which processes it only on our behalf, so we can fix the problem. It doesn't contain your designs, messages, name or email address.

We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking or advertising SDKs.

Who can see what

Designs and colourings you post publicly, your @handle, name and profile picture, and your comments can be seen by anyone using Farbmates, including people without an account. Drafts and anything you post privately are only visible to you.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored on servers run for us by our hosting and storage providers, who process it only on our behalf.

Your choices

• Download your data: Settings → Download my data gives you a file with everything we hold about you.
• Delete your account: Settings → Delete account. Your name, handle, picture, sign-in details, designs, colourings, comments, follows and blocks are removed. Colourings other people made from your designs stay theirs, credited to "a Farbmates member".
• Block and report: you can block anyone, and report anything that shouldn't be here. We look at every report within 24 hours.
